Our trip out with Sycamore Class looked in doubt when snow fell the night before we were due to go to Dove Stone Reservoir. However, we were lucky that it stopped and the day was dry, if cold.
There was still plenty of snow left on the hills around us, and there were certainly plenty of puddles to splash and jump in!
Everyone agreed that it had been a lovely outing, and the children were a credit to the school and their families: they took responsibility for their own kit, and carried any litter after lunch back to the car park where it could be thrown away properly. We checked that we had not left anything behind that might spoil another walker’s enjoyment of this lovely spot.
By the time we got back to the minibus, we had walked exactly three miles.
