Chestnut Class have been very creative this term! After their puppet-making, they continued to look at making things in the Wildlife Garden. This week they worked on bracelets made from paracord. These look good as well as keeping an emergency supply of cordage – always useful in the forest. The cord was stripped and plaited, then fastened round their wrists as a good memento of their morning in Forest School. These bracelets can also be made out of bark from trees such as willow, and can be decorated by threading on elder “beads”. In honour of her hard work, Rose was crowned with a decorated paracord/elder crown.
Once we had shared hot drinks, the children tried their hand at “fishing” – and were very good at this too!
