Heavy rain and thick mud stopped us going to the forest this week. Chestnut Class continued with their theme of making woodland crafts from natural and sustainable materials by making a puppet.
Using hazel and willow – both good woods for coppicing – we made a head, body, jointed arms and legs, hands and feet. we linked these with screw hooks, and worked out where everything attached.
Once we had finished making the puppet, he went on a tour of the school, and even sat in the Head Teacher’s chair to see how he liked it!
