Rowan Class helped to make another kind of puppet. The wood used was hazel, and elder branches made the legs. The hazel was split and drilled and string threaded through the hollowed out elder. A head and neck were added, and some sisal rope for a tail, and we had a horse that would stand up if the strings were pulled tight through the base.
Good fun to make, and all made from natural and sustainable materials.
Leo came up with a lovely name for the puppet, and Hetty the Horse went off back into Rowan Class with the children.
