Oak Class looked at the story “Cave Baby” by Julia Donaldson. The baby in the story enjoys painting over his mother’s cave paintings. She warns him that something bad might happen, then the mammoth comes at night and takes the baby off to his cave in the forest….. and gives him a paintbrush!
The children enjoyed decorating our “cave” – the den in our Wildlife Garden. This week they decorated pictures of hyenas, mammoths, hares, tigers and bears, just like the baby in the story. Then we made flags to hang across the den, some of them with leaf prints.
